Located in the heart of the Swiss Alps at 1,560 meters above sea level, Davos is the highest town in Europe.
Davos is famous for its diverse range of sports, leisure, and cultural activities. Its health-promoting climate, the Kirchner Museum, the World Economic Forum, and the wonderful summer hiking and winter skiing opportunities are known far beyond Switzerland’s borders.
The approximately 50 hotels, spanning all star categories, together with vacation and second homes, offer around 28,000 beds. The selection is complemented by group accommodations, a youth hostel, and camping options. You can find more information about Davos and the surrounding area here: Davos Klosters | Holidays in Graubünden / Switzerland
Like the World Economic Forum, the World Conference will take place at the Davos Congress Center. Online registration will also allow you to book accommodation of your choice and budget.
Davos Congress is Switzerland’s first climate-neutral conference center. You can find more information about the conference center here: Congress Center Davos | Davos Congress
Davos is easy to reach. The nearest major airport is Zurich, though flights to EuroAirport Basel are sometimes more affordable. Davos is easily accessible from these airports by train or rental car.
The journey takes longer from Munich Airport in Germany or Malpensa-Milan Airport in Italy.
The Congress Center is located between the two train stations, “Davos Dorf” and “Davos Platz,” and is a 20-minute walk from either station. In addition, buses run regularly, taking you directly from the train stations to the Congress Center.
By the way: Due to its high altitude, Davos has an alpine climate with pleasant to mild summers. As you climb higher, the air becomes thinner and the air pressure lower. People coming from lower-lying areas often notice stronger sunlight and a different sensation of the air. It may take some time for you to adjust to the altitude. You may experience slight shortness of breath, fatigue, or a headache at first. Don’t worry—just drink plenty of water and avoid strenuous physical activity until you’ve acclimated.
